Children’s speech therapy platform Mable Therapy has raised £3.1m and appointed a new chief executive officer.

The Leeds-headquartered company, which also provides counselling services, said Oli White – former CCO of Doc Abode – will take the reins as CEO.

Set up in 2015 by Martha Currie and Elliot Agró, the therapy service says it is addressing the 1.4 million children in the UK diagnosed with speech and language difficulties.

Mable’s platform connects children with a network of therapists for virtual one-to-one sessions.

Mable said it served 3,000 children in 2022 with more than 22,000 hours of private therapy sessions. Along with its private online service, it has an option for children and staff in schools.

Benjamin Faulkner, associate director at Gresham House Ventures, said: “There is significant growth potential for Mable within the wider education and health sectors where its technology offering can drive meaningful efficiencies for public service providers.”

The entire £3.1m investment comes from VC firm Gresham House Ventures.

“This investment will enable us to extend our reach in the sectors where our technology is already helping schools and other care providers to support children facing complex challenges,” said White.

Gresham House Ventures, a growth equity investor, backed ecommerce integration tool Patchworks earlier this year.
