Sales software startup Trumpet secures £4.9m

Trumpet, a B2B sales software platform used by companies such as OpenTable, has raised $6.35m (£4.9m) in seed funding.

Founded in 2021 by Rory Sadler (CEO), Nick Telson-Sillett (CMO), and Andrew Webster (CPO), the London-based startup enables revenue teams to centralise the entire buying journey, from pitch to renewal, into one shared workspace.

The aim is to help sales teams close deals faster. All deal information, content, timelines, and communication are stored in these personalised digital spaces.

The platform claims to have 10,000 users and 250 paying customers, including Cognism, Sky Media, and Crossbeam.

The founders are not new to the startup space.

Telson-Sillett and Webster previously created the hospitality booking platform DesignMyNight and scaled it to an eight-figure exit, while Sadler is a former sales lead at the product insights platform Hotjar.

Trumpet’s seed funding round was led by AlbionVC, with participation from previous investors Lightbird Ventures, Anamcara Capital, and Triple Point Ventures.

The company plans to use the investment to expand into the US, where 20% of its customer base is located.

Sadler stated: “We’re helping companies collaborate and centralize their buyer journey, increasing their sales efficiency and velocity. Our proprietary revenue intelligence signals are also enabling revenue leaders to forecast and understand their deal pipeline like never before. The new trend of buyer enablement is happening, and we’re at the forefront of it.”

Its competitors include the B2B sales platform Workbounce, which raised £2m in its 2022 seed round, and sales automation startup Avnio, which emerged from stealth in March 2022 and was acquired by Loopio last year.

In 2022, Trumpet secured £1.6m in pre-seed funding led by Lightbird Ventures.
