Venture capital firm Atomico has appointed former Snowflake executive Thibaut Ceyrolle as a partner to head its sales and go-to-market division.
Ceyrolle was the first EMEA employee and geo vice president for Silicon Valley cloud business Snowflake, which went on to IPO for $33bn.
“Thibaut was central to Snowflake’s monumental growth, and that experience has already proven invaluable to Atomico’s founders,” said Dan Hynes, partner and head of growth acceleration at Atomico.
“Early companies have amazing products but figuring out how to bring entirely new solutions to the market is often a struggle – particularly for founders without prior sales experience.”
Ceyrolle joined Atomico as an executive in residence in September last year. However, Ceyrolle has been made partner as he “quickly stretched the limits” of his previous job.
The new partner will help Atomico portfolio companies in hiring and scaling their sales operations.
Oliver Yates, CEO and co-founder of Atomico portfolio company Aplo, said: “As the CEO of an early-stage company, I have to play the role of a VP of revenue until we hire one. Thibaut’s deep experience means he’s able to help step into that role and coach my sales team, enabling us to get results much faster.”
Atomico was founded by Skype co-founder Niklas Zennström and is headquartered in London. In January it was one of the 120 VCs that formed the climate group ImpactVC.
