PlanSnap, an app that helps users make social plans with their friends, has raised £375,580 on crowdfunding platform Crowdcube.

The London-based firm received backing from 546 investors, who helped the startup exceed its £250,000 target.

PlanSnap, founded by Louise Doherty in 2016, gave up 11.13% equity in return for the investment.

The app, currently in beta, suggests plans that would work, including who, what, where and when, helping everyone agree on details in a few taps. Even those who don’t have the app can be included – they receive a text with the plan.

Doherty’s background is in building digital services, which she did for the likes of the BBC, ASOS and YO! Sushi. She also worked on scaling communities around these services and then went on to found a social media agency in 2010.

Last year, PlanSnap was one of the 10 teams selected to take part in the first Techstars Connection, in partnership with AB InBev, programme.

Doherty and her team mates headed to New York City to take part in the programme, which Techstars co-CEO David Brown described as a “new social experience accelerator that will foster innovation and new enterprise through the creation of products, services and experiences that help connect people to people, help connect people to product, and help connect people to place”.
