Cambridge Consultants secures £6.2m from Barclays

Cambridge Consultants has secured a £6.2m finance facility from Barclays to continue the expansion of its product development science park, adding room for another 100 staff.

The company has developed innovations as varied as an all-digital radio, a smart shopping trolley and a miniature Ebola test for use in the field.

The company showed off its ‘Pizzicato’ radio technology at Mobile World Congress. Cambridge has removed any analogue components, meaning it runs purely on computational power, which could make it a key component for next-gen Internet of Things and 5G systems.

Mammen Eapen, CFO, Cambridge Consultants Limited, said:

“Cambridge Consultants is experiencing unparrelled growth from across the globe for its services and we need to make sure we are able to match that growth by providing the best possible environment for the talented engineers we recruit and employ. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Barclays, during a period in which we expect to grow our facilities significantly.”

The company has been running for more than 50 years and now operates across the US and Asia.
