BuzzMyVideos raises $2.5m to boost YouTube views

Online video specialist BuzzMyVideos has raised $2.5m in Series A investment as it looks to rapidly grow its network.

The London-based startup provides promotional tools to YouTube video makers to help them grow their audience and monetise their content.

The investment comes from Italian-based United Ventures and will be used to expand internationally and develop its technology.

Facilitating content creators

Founded in 2011, BuzzMyVideos currently helps a community of over 5,000 online video content creators.

The startup provides a number of services to its users. These include arranging cooperation between creators to grow their networks, copyright management tools, and YouTube technical support.

BuzzMyVideos founders Paola Marinone and Bengu Atamer have both earned their stripes at Google and YouTube before starting the service.

‘An entertainment revolution’

CEO Marinone believes that they are “at the very beginning of an entertainment revolution”:

Production and distribution cycles are changing dramatically and monetisation models are being reinvented.

It’s an inspiring moment in the industry, which we’re excited to share together with our content creators and innovative brands.

Latest research forecasts video will account for 69% of all internet traffic, with the market worth $37bn by 2017.
