Tech Chats: Zooming in on household viewing habits

For this month’s Hot Topics Interview, we spoke with EY’s Lead Analyst for Global Media and Entertainment, Martyn Whistler about viewing habits in the home.

According to the second report from EY’s annual digital home research of 2,500 UK consumers, nearly a third (30%) of households state that streaming via the internet is the primary way that TV programmes and films are viewed at home. The report, which focuses on household viewing habits, finds that this figure jumps to 64% for viewers aged between 18-24 years old. However as Martyn explains, with this influx of content choices, 24% of consumers in fact find it difficult to track the availability of their favourite content across the different services, platforms and apps.
