Several members of the UK tech community have been honoured in the New Year Honours list for 2017.

Download

Our download of the week is Givvit. The app, which can be used by individuals or businesses, enables users to choose a treat, write a message and send it to their desired recipient.

Treats on the app include cinema tickets, coffees and snacks, and can be paid for and sent in just a few taps.

And Finally…

And finally, beauty giant L’Oréal unveiled a new gadget at the CES tech show in Las Vegas. The smart hairbrush, retailing at £160, will share data with a mobile phone app to help users improve their brushing technique. It also vibrates to warn you if you’re brushing too hard!
