UK-based tech job-focused search platform Otta has been acquired by French recruitment company Welcome to the Jungle.
Founded in 2019, Otta is an employment search tool for startup job seekers. It has worked with companies such as Deliveroo, Checkout.com and Multiverse. The platform lets job seekers create customisable searches for key details such as visa sponsorship opportunities.
Welcome to the Jungle has wholly acquired Otta, providing an exit for investors such as Tiger Global, LocalGlobe and Indeed.com co-founder Paul Forster. Otta has raised over $24m (£19m) since it was founded.
Paris-based Welcome to the Jungle said the deal will bolster its position in the European and US recruitment market.
The Otta brand will continue to operate, with co-founders Sam Franklin, Theo Margolius and Xav Kearney remaining at the company.
“We both uniquely believe in a future of work based on the power of matching and share the same DNA that disrupts market conventions, from our branding to our obsession for helping people find meaning through their work,” said Welcome to the Jungle CEO Jérémy Clédat.
Franklin added: “We think it’s a great combination culturally, and we share a common mission to build a better future for job seekers.”
The firms did not disclose the acquisition fee, however, Otta has been given an estimated valuation of $80m-$120m by startup data platform Dealroom.
Welcome to the Jungle last year raised $54m in its Series C funding round that included investments from Cipio, Blisce and Revaia.
