Winton Labs and tech investor L Marks launch data accelerator programme

data

Investment management business Winton and innovation consultant and tech investor L Marks have partnered to launch a 10 week data-focused accelerator programme.

The Winton Labs accelerator will select a maximum of 10 startups working in the fields of client relationship management (CRM), data management, visualisation, compliance and governance.

Owen McCormack, director at Winton Ventures, said in a statement: “The challenge with having a great idea for many entrepreneurs is taking it from concept to product or from an initial product to a thriving and scalable business. Our accelerator programme aims to match these innovators with the industry players that have had years of experience and to connect these promising enterprises to the real marketplace.”

Those startups that make the shortlist will be based in Winton’s West London offices. Participants will receive mentoring, training, operational advice and legal counsel.

Winton says it will not be taking any equity from startups. Instead, startups will have the opportunity to receive funding from Winton following the completion of the accelerator programme.

Stuart Marks, chairman at L Marks, added: “Winton is offering a fantastic opportunity for start-ups in data and analytics to really immerse themselves within a leading global investment company. Not only are they offering free office space in a great central location within a buzzing, entrepreneurial environment, but there will be a structured programme of workshops, seminars and mentoring to help them develop their businesses.

The application process is now open and will close on 21st February. Startups will be expected to pitch their ideas on 22nd March. The shortlist will be announced on 25th March.
