Airbnb management platform Airsorted has raised an additional £2.1m in funding, through a crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs.
In March 2018, the London-based hosting company raised £5m from investors including Atami Capital, Concentric, Maxfield Capital and Pi Labs. This fresh funding brings its total for this round to more than £7m.
These funds will be used to help Airsorted expand into 38 new cities globally, by the end of 2019. It currently operates in 14 cities around the world and launched in another five cities; Oxford, Manchester, Bath, Cambridge and Toronto, during the crowdfunding campaign. Over 100 employees currently work for the company.
The funding will also be used to develop its automation technology, including smart scheduling, automatic communication with guests and its API integrated channel management.
Airsorted was founded in 2015 by James Jenkins-Yates, who has himself been a host on Airbnb, and co-founded by Daniel Scott and Tom Jones. It raised £1.5m in a funding round led by Concentric back in 2017.
James Jenkins-Yates commented on the funding news: “Raising an additional £2m through crowdfunding alongside our £5m Series A, will really help us realise our ambitions. With Airbnb offering more than four million listings in over 190 countries, Airsorted can tap into a huge potential market and can create a hassle-free hosting experience globally.
“The level of support shown by this campaign highlights the belief investors have in our platform and also in our vision for the future,” he added.
Hosts who visit Airsorted can use the service across accommodation booking platforms like Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia and HomeAway. The company claims to have organised and managed over £25m in bookings to date.
Services include listing creation with professional photography, maintenance and laundry, restocking of household items and 24/7 guest support.
Airsorted claims the technology enables hosts to step back from the day-to-day tasks that accompany home-sharing and maximise the revenue on their property.
Throughout this campaign, Airsorted raised a total of £2,149,197, hitting its original £1,000,000 crowdfunding target within four days. Overall, it attracted over 1,271 investors from 31 countries.
