Young entrepreneurs
A study by the New Entrepreneurs Foundation has revealed almost a third of 18-24 year olds in the UK have thought about starting their own business, but 50% of these young adults say that a lack of finance, business skills and the right contacts are preventing them from being able to do so.
However, the research also found young founders are four times more likely than all UK adults to have completed an apprenticeship to help them set up their own business (16% vs 4%). Young adults have also joined university business societies (12%), sought advice from family (25%) and used accelerators/incubators (6%) as alternative ways to achieve progress....
