The iPhoneography project that brings London and New York closer than ever before

New York + London superimposes the nostalgia for home and the excitement of a new city felt by New Yorkers living in London

Through a series of double exposures shot using an iPhone 4s, New Yorker Daniella Zalcman has documented her experience of living in London and is raising money on Kickstarter to make a book of the images that she is calling New York + London.

Daniella Zalcman‘s experience will be familiar to many in London’s tech city, which has attracted some of New York’s top talent including once director of General Assembly Courtney Boyd Myers, whose latest project, Audience.io, is launching in both cities simultaneously.

iPhoneography

Daniella Zalcman, a photojournalist based in London who has worked for The New York Times, took all the pictures on her iPhone and edited them using iPhone apps, as she felt that the formality of professional photography can inhibit creativity, which the casual nature of iPhone photography freed her from.

Tech Hubs

Parallells have been drawn between the start-up scenes in New York and London, whose tight-knit tech community has far more in common with the Big Apple than Silicon Valley.

Rewards for backing New York + London include a copy of the first run of the book, as well as some limited edition prints of the images.
