Eileen Burbidge of Passion Capital said:
“After the success of our first Pitch 10 event, the quality of the companies applying has been consistently high. In this year’s event led by Tech City UK, it’s fantastic to see such a strong spread of digital businesses from across UK.
“From young startups like Geospock to growth stage scale ups such as FreeAgent, Pitch 10 will again put a spotlight on the breadth of innovation and digital talent we have in the UK.”
Gerard Grech, CEO of Tech City UK, said this year’s event helped highlight the depth of Britain’s technology clusters.
He added:
“This year’s Pitch 10 competition provides further proof that digital businesses with diverse specialisms are thriving across the UK.
“Showcasing the breadth of talent from across the UK’s clusters will be a factor in raising awareness and driving investment. Pitch 10, with Tech City UK, is a great example of how we can contribute to achieving that goal.”
The companies have been chosen by an independent advisory panel. The Pitch 10 advisory panel consists of industry experts: Eileen Burbidge of Passion Capital, Jon Bradford of Tech Stars, Gerard Grech of Tech City UK, Russell Buckley of UKTI and Ballpark Ventures, Davor Hebel of Fidelity Growth Partners Europe, and Baroness Martha Lane-Fox, House of Lords and UK’s Digital Champion.
This year’s edition of Pitch 10 has been produced in association with Tech City UK and the Tech Nation project and the 12 finalists will pitch at Number 10 Downing Street on Friday 20.
