Tech Nordic Advocates launched

Tech London Advocates (TLA) has launched its first non-UK operation in the Nordics and Baltics, based in Copenhagen.

The aim of Tech Nordic Advocates is to replicate TLA’s model and to champion the potential of the Nordics and Baltics as a world-class hub for tech innovation and entrepreneurship.

It will do this by supporting startups in finding investment, talent and mentoring as well as through collaboration and networking with investors and established tech companies.

“London’s technology sector has experienced extraordinary growth in the past five years, consolidating its position as the digital capital of Europe,” said Russ Shaw, founder of Tech London Advocates.

“This is the result of a unique ecosystem of entrepreneurs, investors and government working to support the sector.

“The launch of Tech Nordic Advocates is our first step to take this concept global, offering the same network of support, advice and knowledge to the emerging digital ecosystem in the Nordic region.”

TNA will work with existing Nordic and Baltic tech groups, communities, public and private organisations to drive opportunities and remove roadblocks hindering tech sector growth.

“There is huge growth potential in the tech space in the Nordics and Baltics, but the sector is quite fragmented,” said Jeanette Carlsson, founder of Tech Nordic Advocates.

“There is a need to build scale and access talent and investment across borders in the region, so we need to work together.

“Our vision is to become the leading Northern European driving force for tech entrepreneurship and collaboration by bringing the lessons from London to the Nordics and Baltics, and build a common gateway to and from London and the international tech community.”
