Tech City UK adds 15 firms to Future Fifty programme

Tech City UK has announced 15 new members for its Future Fifty programme, including delivery platform Deliveroo and ecommerce solutions provider Yieldify.

Other companies in the new intake of the programme, which supports 50 of the UK’s leading growth-stage digital companies, include crowdfunding venture Crowdcube and mobile gaming company Space Ape Games.

Ecommerce is the dominant focus for this year’s new intake, with a third of the new companies joining the Future Fifty offering ecommerce solutions.

Eileen Burbidge, chair at Tech City UK, said: “The UK is developing a global reputation for world-class digital innovation in sectors such as fintech and e-commerce. In turn, this is attracting increasing investment activity, talent and expertise into the country.”

Of the 15 firms joining the programme, nine are based in London, with the others being based in Brighton, Ricksmanworth, Exeter, Basingstoke and Sheffield.

The amount of declared funding received by the companies to date tops $662.14m (£441.27m).

A number of notable companies have graduated from the Future Fifty programme, including Hailo, Shazam, Made.com and Secret Escapes.

The companies joining the programme are:

Brandwatch (Brighton) – Description: a leading enterprise social intelligence company

Crowdcube (Exeter) – Description: a crowdfunding venture for entrepreneurs

Deliveroo (London) – Description: a delivery platform bringing high end food to homes and offices via web and mobile

FundApps (London) – Description: a software provider offering a cloud-based regulatory compliance monitoring service

Established: 2010

Monitoring over $1trn USD in assets on a daily basis

Iwoca (London) – Description: a Fintech specialist offering finance to the millions of SMEs across Europe

LoopUp (London) – Description: a SaaS solution for remote business meetings

Lost My Name (London) – Description:  marrying technology and publishing to create personalised children’s books

Raised $9.84m to date and sold over 1m children’s books in the last two years

MWR InfoSecurity (Basingstoke) Description: A research-led cyber security consultancy

NewVoiceMedia (Basingstoke) – Description: a cloud customer contact platform to deliver a personalised customer service and drive a more effective sales team
