TaskRabbit expands to six more cities

TaskRabbit, the on-demand network that connects people with Taskers to manage everyday tasks at home, has announced its launch in six new cities across England and Wales.

This more than doubles the number of cities the company serves in the UK. The new areas are Brighton, Cardiff, Coventry, Liverpool & Warrington, Oxford and Reading.

The company also announced it will launch in Edinburgh and Glasgow in early 2019.

“Since TaskRabbit first launched, we’ve been honoured and impressed by the level of positive response from people using TaskRabbit’s task management network to get help with their everyday household tasks,” said Cornelia Raportaru, UK country director of TaskRabbit.

“Our expansion across England and Wales means we’re making everyday life easier for even more people and connecting more Taskers to meaningful work opportunities in their own communities.”

TaskRabbit first launched in London in 2013 and expanded to Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester in February this year.

“I love that TaskRabbit provides a network to find work that fits a wide range of my skills,” said Ray Lawrence, a Birmingham Tasker.

“I started tasking this year to supplement my earnings as a delivery driver and enjoy the flexibility that comes with being able to set my own rates. With this extra income, I’ve begun saving for a family holiday.”

TaskRabbit was acquired by IKEA in October 2017 and since then has continued to grow in fulfilment of its mission to make everyday life easier for everyday people. This latest expansion means that TaskRabbit’s service is now available in 50% of the locations where IKEA is present in the UK, enabling a more convenient shopping experience for customers who want to purchase IKEA home-furnishing products and have them assembled at home as soon as the next day.
