Startup weekly: Newcastle competition, a €10,000 prize and new co-working space

startup weekly 3

Here’s your weekly round up of startup competitions, awards, co-working space and accelerator news.

Competition in Newcastle

Tech companies are encouraged to enter this year’s Thinking Digital Startup Competition.

Now in its fifth year, the contest offers a series of prizes to winning candidates. Ten entrants from this year’s competition will be shortlisted and invited to Tyneside to pitch to a panel of experts, in an event held in partnership with Campus North.

2015 winner, Skignz, spoke about their experience of winning last year: “The bootcamp pitch was a great environment to be in and the buzz around the pitches was infectious. The whole experience of pitching, listening to the other speakers and finally winning the overall award is fantastic for the Skignz team and also for the Skignz brand as its allowed us to showcase our technology to a whole new audience or largely early adopters.”

The deadline for applications is 15th April.

A €10,000 prize

Brand Loyalty Lab is offering startups the chance to win €10,000 and the chance to scale their product in different markets around the world.

The Brand Loyalty Lab, a Publicis Drugstore Retail Innovation Project run by MiniBarLabs and made in partnership with SCA, seeks  to identify innovative retail, sales and loyalty solutions.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend a number of ideation sessions in March to develop their proposals.

The programme will draw to a close with a pitching session 25th April 2016 at the Publicis Drugstore in London when the selected teams will present their ideas to a panel of judges including SCA representatives.

Elevator Pitch deadline

The application process for this year’s Elevator Pitch competition is now closed.

The Elevator Pitch competition seeks to teach startups to promote their company in the most effective way, whilst giving finalists the chance to gain coverage on Tech City News.

The Tech City News team will be reviewing applications soon, so watch this space!
