StartUp Britain tours UK

StartUp Britain is set to tour the UK in a double-decker bus filled with experts as it looks to unleash entrepreneurship across the country by harnessing the expertise of some of Britain’s leading business people.

Founded by eight entrepreneurs and launched in March 2011 by the Prime Minister, StartUp Britain is completely private sector funded. It was launched in response to the government’s call for an ‘enterprise led’ recovery.

StartUp Britain director, Matt Smith said: “Since StartUp Britain launched in 2011 we have seen record breaking numbers of people each year starting businesses, showing that the entrepreneurial spirit within Britain continues to grow.”

Since the campaign launched, startup rates have increased from 440,600 in 2011 to a record breaking 581,173 in 2014.

The route takes in 25 locations across England, Scotland and Wales. All of the planned stops are listed on the website.

Smith added: “By parking the StartUp Britain bus in town squares across the country, we want to give people the confidence and inspiration to turn their business ideas into reality.”

Sage is the tours headline sponsor and it is supported by NatWest, Start Up Loans and Upwork. RBS are providing its iconic 1966 Routemaster bus.
