Secret Escapes, the London-based flash sales site for affordable luxury travel, has secured $60m in a funding round led by Google Ventures and Octopus Investments.
Index Ventures and Atlas Ventures, which contributed to Secret Escapes £8m funding round back in 2012, also participated in the Series C investment.
The company, founded in 2011, already operates in thirteen countries and has more than 19 million members, 14 million of which are from the UK.
It will use the funds to fuel its ambitious plans for international expansion.
Speaking of the round Alliott Cole, of Octopus Investments, said: “It was Secret Escapes’ strong commercial opportunity, the size of the potential global market, and the strengths of the founding team which initially attracted us to support the brand during the early stages of the business’ development.
“Since 2011 Secret Escapes has enjoyed a 260% year-on-year revenue growth and we’re excited to see how this brand develops in the future.”
The expansion plans will see Secret Escapes to expand into both the US and Asia.
