San Francisco-based app development platform Instart Logic is setting up in London and Germany, having received a $43m round of funding last month.
Kevin Platz, formerly of Fusion-io in Cologne, has joined as director of EMEA sales to lead the charge in this region.
The company, which has filed or been granted more than 30 patents, now supports embedded web video, cloud storage of assets and has also extended its platform into China.
“The European region has seen some tremendous growth in ecommerce over the past decade, and I’m excited to be leading our expansion,” Platz said. “Europe has been saddled with legacy content delivery network technology for the last decade. It’s time to bring modern application delivery technology to the European market.”
