Shoreditch Grind, the independent coffee shop and cocktail bar on Silicon Roundabout, has become the first store in the UK to test out Apple Pay.
The coffee shop claims it is the first retailer in the country to accept Apple’s new payment system.
Transactions will be made possible thanks to startup iZettle, the mobile payment platform which offers small business friendly card readers that enables Apple Pay.
Staying at the forefront of Apple Pay, Grind will also be launching its very own app, which will be compatible with the new system.
The app will be funded by the Grind Bond, which is currently raising funds on the crowdfunding website Crowdcube.
