London based Bitcoin exchange Coinfloor has launched what it says is the first broker-based marketplace for buying and selling the cryptocurrency.
Coinfloor has brought together 21 professional Bitcoin brokers as founding members of its Coinfloor Market, who will advise personal and retail investors on trading Bitcoin peer-to-peer.
CEO Mark Lamb said: “Coinfloor Market and the introduction of professional bitcoin brokers is the next step for bitcoin’s adoption. We are moving away from the ‘Wild West’ of Bitcoin towards safe and accessible structures.
“Coinfloor’s brokers join us in leading the Bitcoin industry in pursuing professionalism and focusing on trust and innovation that will accelerate the growth of the Bitcoin network.”
Coinfloor says its agents have signed a ‘Bitcoin Broker Agreement’, which commits them to creating a fair and transparent marketplace, akin to the Buttonwood Agreement signed by 24 stockbrokers on the formation of the New York Stock Exchange.
