The FinTech40, a list of the top forty people in Europe’s burgeoning fintech industry, has been announced by Financial News.
London has again proven its fintech credentials as three-quarters of the people named as industry influencers are based in the British capital.
It is already considered Europe’s fintech leader and London’s dominance on the list will be seen as a positive sign for its growing fintech cluster.
Influencers and innovators
All nominees for the FinTech 40 had to be based in Europe, the Middle East or Africa and display influence and innovation in the fintech ecosystem. They also had to be operating in, or have potential to impact, European capital markets.
Many of the winners also featured in last week’s Tech City News International Hall of Fame awards.
Yoni Assia of eToro, Taveet Hinrikus of Transferwise, and Eric van der Kleij of Level39 all won awards and DueDil‘s Damian Kimmelman was named International Entrepreneur of the Year.
All four were named in the FinTech40.
The final list of 40 includes representatives from Frankfurt, Geneva, Paris, Brussels, Stockholm and Tel Aviv, although the majority is based in London.
