London dominates the Tech Track 100

London hosts half of Britain’s fastest growing tech companies

1 in 2 of Britain’s top 100 technology companies are based in the capital, according to the 13th Annual Tech Track 100.

The index lists Britain’s fastest growing-private technology companies and ranked them in a league table.

Its based on their average annual sales growth over the last 3 years.

Increases in sales and funding

At the top of the list was MVF, the digital marketing company from Kentish Town, which boasts a 277% rise in sales making £13.8 million in the last year alone.

Overall, the 100 companies made combined annual sales worth £783.9 million. The top 10 London based companies made £187 million of this on their own – or 24% of all the sales.

Out of the 50 based in London, 15 of them aren’t in profit.

This includes AlertMe, a provider of home monitoring services, at number 13 which raised £23 million in VC funding since 2006. Its sales reached £13.6 million last year.

Southwark based MobileWebAdz went down a place from last year to 5th after seeing a 220% rise in sales. The advertising company offers targeted ads to mobile devices and has reached over 25 million impressions in the last month.

Shoreditch based Mind Candy came in at number 10 with sales listed at £46.9 million for this year. The company recently announced its franchise Moshi Monsters would hit the movie screens.
