PushDoctor, a UK service that enables users to have video consultations with doctors, has raised $8.2m (£5.6m) in a Series A funding round.

Led by Oxford Capital Partners and Draper Esprit, the round also included Partech Ventures and adds to the $1.2m the company previously received in seed funding.

PushDoctor plans to use the funds to boost its marketing efforts and develop its data offering, improving its integration with other healthcare providers.

The HealthTech startup has a network of around 7,000 partner GMC-registered UK general practitioners (GPs) who offer consultations ranging from 10 to 30 minutes. The services aims to connect users with a GP within three minutes.

“We are all about usage, we want patients to get the advice they want from real doctors, in person and at a time that is convenient for them,” said Eren Ozagir, PushDoctor co-founder and CEO.

“We believe that having the ability to see a doctor on-demand speeds up the patient journey to recovery and that every patient should have the choice to reach for professional advice when they need to,” he added.

The service charges £25 for a 10-minute appointment with a GP, while prescriptions are £4.50 and referral letters or fit-for-work notes are £12.50.
