A subscription website for feminine hygiene products plans to take on the £504 million market in its search for crowdfunding.
Trinkets, founded by Australians Genevieve Murphy and Kate Barry, provide subscribers with a regular supply of natural cotton tampons through the post.
The company is looking for £165,000 funding on Seedrs to broaden their customer base and development of their products.
Since moving over to the UK a decade ago, the pair have found a gap in the market for and plan to challenge the three dominant companies.
Genevieve said “The market in the UK is far behind Australia. Women choose from a few major brands using synthetic materials with limited knowledge on the alternatives available.”
Instead, Trinkets products are made from natural cotton and are discreetly delivered to the users door every 4 to 6 weeks.
But it also aims to encourage more women into the crowdfunding environment.
They’re keen to have female investors and allow them a stake in their company.
Trinkets have already received angel investment from Lovefilm.com co-founder William Reeve for an undisclosed amount.
