Rackspace gives nearly £250,000 of cloud services to 300 startups – for free

Cloud company Rackspace has given 300 UK startups almost a quarter of a million pounds’ worth of cloud hosting services for free over the past six months.

The Rackspace Startup Programme launched in June, and as well as Rackspace’s own services offers mentoring, expert technical advice and access to networking events.

The programme

The benefits are provided by Rackspace through over 50 partners, including premier incubators, accelerators, associations and investors.

They  include:

  • Cloud-powered startups – making available cloud services and support for free to each programme member every month
  • Education for future UK plc – making some network events open to any UK startup which are part of the company’s wider education programme, Rackspace Academy
  • Partnering with major players – The high profile partners involved in the Rackspace Startup Programme include Techstars, Dreamstake, Wayra, Seedcamp, Oxygen Accelerator and Accelerator Academy.
