Parcel delivery startup ParcelBright has raised $1m from Forward Partners, Talis Capital, Avonmore Developments and Howzat Partners.
The London-based startup runs a delivery service focused on small and medium sized ecommerce businesses.
It has partnered with a number of delivery providers, including DPD, Hermes and DHL, and simplifies their services through a fully integrated user experience all through their platform.
Personalised service
ParcelBright has also developed an API for its larger clients who need a more tailored service.
“We aim to create transparency in the delivery marketplace and we believe in tailoring products specifically to each customer,” says cofounder and CTO Carlos Vilhena.
Businesses can compare the various delivery services through the platform and deliveries are all then tracked in the same place.
ParcelBright says it’s on track to complete 500,000 deliveries this year.
Deliveries and ecommerce
As the number of small and medium sized ecommerce businesses has grown, particularly in the UK, a number of startups are now focused on the delivery of goods.
Last year, eBay acquired UK startup Shutl that specialises in same-day delivery. Startups like Streethub have also focused on same-day delivery for boutique shops.
Ecommerce giant Amazon is constantly looking to speed up the process and is working on Amazon Air, a drone delivery service.
