Keit, a science tech company, has raised £1.4m in a round led by Longwall Ventures.

Other investors in the round included the Angel CoFund, Rainbow Seed Fund, Wren Capital and various angel investors.

The firm develops spectroscopy technology which monitors reactions in manufacturing industries. This includes the chemical, pharmaceutical and food and drink industries.

Keit, which is based in Harwell, Oxfordshire, plans to use the funding to further certify its technology and expand internationally.

Dan Wood, CEO at Keit, said: “This funding has come about as a result of the excellent work of the Keit team in developing the technology and the unambiguously positive reaction from the trial work with customers. We are delighted to have a supportive set of like-minded institutions backing our development and growth.”

VC firm Longwall Venture Partners is based at the Harwell campus business park, and manages a series of early stage funds totaling £70m.

David Denny, partner at Longwall Venture Partners, commented: “We are delighted with Keit’s progress during the last 6 months after several years of development work and we have high expectations for this company.”
