Media tech platform Bright Network closes £2.5m round

Media technology platform Bright Network has raised £2.5m in a round led by Maven Capital Partners.

The startup, which enables employers to recruit students and young professionals, is already working with organisations including Goldman Sachs, Sky, Dyson, Slaughter & May and Teach First.

Founded by James Uffindell in 2013, Bright Network is chaired by Zach Miles, formerly the CEO of Vedior, a multinational recruitment firm acquired by Randstad for €3.3bn in 2008.

Uffindell, also the CEO of Bright Network, said: “We are delighted to be working with Maven Capital Partners.

“The expertise they will bring to Bright Network will be transformative, while this investment will allow us to expand our reach and help even more students to secure internships and graduate roles with the world’s leading employers.”

Maven Capital Partners contributed £2.15m to the round, which also drew support from existing and new Angel investors.

Melanie Goward, investment director at Maven, said she was delighted to lead the company’s round.

“The highly driven management team, led by James Uffindell, who has proven experience delivering shareholder value by exiting similar businesses in the sector, has developed a clear strategy to grow the business profitability through its existing and new product lines.

“In High Growth, James has identified a gap in the SME graduate recruitment market focused on helping employers easily recognise and reach the brightest graduates and young professionals and we looking forward to working with him and the team over the coming months and years,” Goward concluded.
