MBA & Company, a digital talent marketplace, have secured £800k in funding. The investment has been led by existing investors MMC Ventures and Piton Capital.
It takes the company’s total funding to £2m. The funds will be used to scale the business internationally, particularly focussing on building the team within the company.
An online community of professionals
The company was founded by Daniel Callaghan and Adam Riccoboni in 2009. It provides small and medium sized businesses with access to an online marketplace with high-end consultants that they might not otherwise be able to afford. Callaghan explains:
Our business model removes the high cost barriers to having great work delivered by the best independent consultants available..
MBA & Co now has over 20,000 consultants signed on and is managing projects across 50 countries.
Going forward
This latest funding is the second phase of last year’s MMC Ventures and Piton Capital funding round, and will be used to scale the business internationally.
MBA & Co do not plan to rest on their laurels. Ultimately, the platform will become a self-service model, allowing clients on-demand access to the pool of independent professionals.
