PORTER has released it’s 100 incredible women list, including the best and most inspiring women in the technology space.
Instead of honoring women according to what they do for a living or how powerful they are, PORTER’s 100 Incredible Women list celebrates the way they have altered the status quo and influenced the world through their actions, achievements, innovations and inspiration.
The 16 women in tech, included in the list, were chosen for being the lynchpins that help us connect with each other and the world, in an age when we are more plugged in than ever before.
The women celebrated include CEOs, politicians, company founders, social media giants and vloggers. They include:
Co-founder of Tinder, Whitney Wolfe – Wolfe has now created a new app ‘Bumble’ which allows women to take more control of the dating process;
Apple’s senior VP, Angela Ahrendts – the highest paid female executive in the US and part of the team that brought out the Apple Watch;
Yahoo! CEO, Marissa Mayer – the fourth most visited website in the world with 600 million mobile users and 7 billion online users per month; and
Supermodels Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, and actress Yao Chen, for using social media to push causes and connect with fans on an unprecedented scale.
Sponsored by American beauty superbrand Elizabeth Arden, the list – to be published in a special 33-page editorial supplement in the Winter Escape issue of PORTER – champions politicians, celebrities, CEOs, writers, performers, actresses, philanthropists, protestors, musicians and designers from around the world and all walks of life.
PORTER’s editor-in-chief, Lucy Yeomans, said: “Rather than celebrating women because of their power or stardom, we’ve devised a list of female visionaries who have made us think and act differently in the past 12 months and inspired and empowered others around them.
“Our list and editorial tribute is for incredible women everywhere and shows us that not only is the connection between women exceptionally profound, but collectively we are capable of doing the most incredible things.”
If you want to see if your name is in there, the issue will be available from 4 December.
