Tribesport smashes funding goal by 300%
Tribesport, the social network for sports, have set up a 30 day campaign on Kickstarter for £30,000 to fund its new idea.
They plan to take on the overpriced market of sports clothes by removing stores, disposing of advertisements and cutting the costs of sport clothing.
Passing on the savings to customers
So far, the project has received over 3 times the asking amount, raised £92,000 and still has 7 days remaining.
By cutting out the million pound costs of advertisements with athletes and relying on word of mouth alone, Tribesport believe they can reduce the costs of sport clothing by up to 40%.
Products currently available on Kickstarter include t-shirts, shorts and running trousers.
The infographic below shows by cutting wholesale and retail costs they can heavily reduce the final price.
In real terms, this can make the difference between an item costing $40 through traditional stores or just $25 online.
Backers of the Kickstarter project will receive their products this November, with more designs in production next year.
