Sport England is giving techies the opportunity to win a £10,000 bursary by taking part in its Sports Hackathon.
The prototypes created at the 24-hour event on 3 October must help target an underrepresented group in sport to get more active.
Teams of up to six people aged 18 or over, including at least one woman, can sign up to take part before 5pm on Monday 7 September.
The winner will be announced at the Sports Technology Awards in April 2016 and the money will then be used to build out their idea.
Sport England’s director of business partnerships Tanya Joseph said: “Sport and technology both have an amazing power to bring together people from different backgrounds. I am hoping that the combination of the two will have a real impact. The Hackathon will use this generation’s tech gurus to create an app to benefit the next generation. We encourage anyone with any coding or app development skills to get involved and be a part of this exciting initiative.”
