Lisbon’s Faber Ventures has appointed entrepreneur and investor Felix Peterson as the second full-time partner at the young early-stage VC firm.
Before joining Faber, Peterson founded and exited from comms platform Plazes, which was acquired by Nokia in 2008, and headed up the Amen app, acquired by Tape.tv in 2013. Peterson also worked at Nokia as director of product strategy and was an angel investor in companies like SoundCloud and Dataminr.
The three-year-old VC company already has an office in London and is focused on making investments in mobile, SaaS and marketplace startups. They have already invested in several London-based companies, including Chic by Choice and Seedrs.
“We are just beginning as a VC in the European scene, having been investing for only two and a half years,” said Faber managing partner Alexandre Barbosa. “In that time we have had the privilege to invest in some of Europe’s brightest founders and companies, and the addition of Felix to our team will help us further expand and scale our initiatives in the months and years to come.”
“I’ve built startups that have sold to large corporates and been invested in by large VC firms and celebrity angels, so after a decade of founding, growing and selling businesses, I’m looking forward to learning from Faber’s expertise and hopefully adding to it to build and invest in a new generation of brilliant startups ” Felix Petersen added.
The firm now has plans to raise its first official fund.
