Prominent venture capital firm Balderton Capital has hired two new female investors.
Cayetana Hurtado and Isabel Bescos will join the team alongside Diane Albouy, who has been hired to fill a research associate role.
The news comes months after the firm announced the closure of Fund VI in November last year.
Bescos joins Balderton from BlaBlaCar where she headed corporate strategy, and focused on the company’s international expansion.
Prior to that, Bescos was part of the management team of company builder Entrepreneur First.
Hurtado, on the other hand, recently finished her MBA at Columbia Business School, where she focused on venture capital and entrepreneurship.
Before that, she worked in the TMT M&A group of Goldman Sachs. She’ll focus on the Spanish and French markets.
Balderton recenlty led Peakon’s $22m round and InsurTech startup Dinghy’s $1.2m Seed.
