Dyson is looking to create an additional 300 tech jobs in a bid to build its first electric car by 2020.
The UK tech company, best known for its vacuum cleaners and hand dryers, first caused a wave of excitement last year when it announced its plans to create a battery powered car.
Dyson is already thought to have 400 people working on the project and it says it’s doubled the amount of scientists focused on its battery projects over the past 12 months.
The news of Dyson’s recruitment drive come amid the company’s uptick in underlying earnings for 2017 – increasing by 27% to more than £800m.
According to the BBC, Dyson has confirmed that its electric car team, currently based in the company’s HQ in the Cotswolds, will soon relocate to a new R&D facility in Wiltshire.
Dyson is yet to make a decision on whether the electric cars will be manufactured once the design process is completed.
