Digital wealth management firm MoneyFarm to expand to UK

UK

Ex-Google senior technical program manager Michele Battelli has joined digital wealth management company MoneyFarm to spearhead its roll-out in the UK.

MoneyFarm, which has an existing customer base of 50,000 registered users, uses technology to deliver advisory and discretionary services in the savings and investment space.

The firm uses algorithms to create a personalised investment portfolio for each user.

Battelli, who was part of the launch team of Google OnHub, its new smart wifi router, will initially focus on the roll-out of MoneyFarm’s new ISA offering.

The Northeastern University graduate also co-founded the Google Adventure team, which took StreetView to some of the world’s highest peaks, including Everest.

Battelli’s appointment follows that of former Last.fm CTO David Jeffrey, and the pair will work together to develop the company’s ‘mobile first’ approach, enabling investors to manage their wealth portfolios from a mobile device.

“MoneyFarm has developed a highly innovative and exciting model, which has enabled it within a short space of time to become a significant player in the European FinTech space,” said Battelli.

“I look forward to help build on its success and deliver innovative technologies that will allow MoneyFarm to address people’s needs for high quality products,” he added.
