The London Symphony Orchestra has launched LSO Play, a web-based platform that allows users to immerse themselves in the orchestra in concert.
Noteworthy viewing
Open to everyone, but with a focus on educational use for schools and students, the new platform uses high-definition concert footage and allows users to control views of the performance from within the different sections of the orchestra.
The service was developed by London-based design studio Sennep and LSO Discovery, the orchestra’s community and music education programme.
In control
In effect, the experience puts you in the seat of the TV Director, with a panel of screens in front of you to choose what to watch.
This means you even get to see how the cameras act when they’re not being broadcast – blurry focus and all.
