Cyber scaleup Digital Shadows expands into Singapore and Germany

Digital Shadows, a cybersecurity monitoring company, has opened new offices in Germany and Singapore.

Country managers have also been hired to oversee each new market. Stefan Bange, previously sales director DACH at Trustwave, will run the German region and Lawrence Loh, ex-channel director at Viptela, will oversee the Far Eastern region based out of Singapore.

Founded in 2011, Digital Shadows monitors, manages and mediates an organisation’s digital risk. They uncover specific threat intelligence and use it to provide recommendations, prioritisation of incidents, context, and manage takedowns. Digital Shadow’s ‘searchlight’ also scours open, deep, and dark web for mentions of a company’s specific assets and unique identifiers, and uses machine learning to pinpoint the biggest threats.

Alastair Paterson, CEO and co-founder of Digital Shadows, said of the new appointments: “We are delighted to welcome Stefan and Lawrence to the Digital Shadows family and excited to be able to attract individuals of their calibre and experience to the company.”

Digital Shadows already has offices in London, San Francisco and Dallas. This expansion comes after the company received $26m Series C funding last year.

Paterson said: “We committed to expand our business into Asia and Europe to support customers on a global basis and this announcement is the realisation of that goal.”

Chris Brown, vice president of EMEA and APAC Sales, said they have already seen considerable interest in their service in Central Europe and Asia: “We are excited to see what Stefan and Lawrence can do to recruit new partners and clients.”

“Managing your digital footprint and protecting your brand and corporate data is critical to organisations all around the world in the face of the global cybercrime,” he added.
