AppyParking has just closed a $1.5m (£1.05m) Seed round, featuring investment from Aviva Ventures, the wholly owned venture capital business of Aviva.
Irish parking solutions provider Premier Parking also took part in the round.
The parking app allows drivers to see controlled parking zones, registered driveways, and car parks in selected cities and can direct users to spot of choice, via sat nav.
AppyParking is currently available in London, where the company is based, as well as Manchester, Edinburgh, Portsmouth, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Bournemouth, Sandwell and Cambridge.
Ben Luckett, managing director of Aviva Ventures, said: “Aviva Ventures aims to invest in the best new technology and digital businesses around. We have been impressed by the incredible amount achieved by AppyParking in a short space of time and we are excited to be investing in this business.
“We believe AppyParking has a very strong proposition and one that fulfils a consumer need we can all relate to,” he added.
This month, AppyParking has launched a new feature that shows the nearest and cheapest petrol prices.
