A total of 18 companies made this year’s Fintech 100, compiled by Fintech Innovators, a collaboration between fintech investment firm, H2 Ventures and KPMGFintech.
The list is split into two halves: the world’s leading 50 fintech companies and 50 ‘emerging stars’. Of the list’s 50 leading firms, six are UK-based, with all but one of those calling London home.
The 50 ‘emerging stars’ list features 12 UK companies, including the likes of recurring payments startup GoCardless, blockchain security and compliance company Elliptic and Cambridge-based equity crowdfunding platform SyndicateRoom.
Fostering fintech innovation
Warren Mead, global co-lead of KPMG’s Fintech practice said: “The UK is currently home to more emerging fintech companies on the list than anywhere else. In a fast moving sector, it will be interesting to track how many breakout over the next 12 months.”...
