Tech investments are booming, Apple launches payments, Minecraft set to exit for $2bn & more in your Week in Tech!

London tech investments are on fire this week with UK startups raising millions. Festicket, one of the nominees in our International Hall of Fame raised an incredible $2.7m. Music startup Jukedeck and recruitment focused TheJobPost raised almost a million dollars, and Property Partner shook up fintech raising a huge $2m seed round, before even launching!

Apple finally launched the much awaited iPhone 6, and 6+ which has a huge 5.5″ screen. There was little to note of difference other than Apple’s bold move into payments, launching Apple Pay. The fingerprint scanner promises to add another level of security and this could be the beginning of something very interesting for the hardware giant. The iWatch became the Apple Watch and integrated Apple Pay as well as focusing on fitness and fashion, promising to be the most personal device yet.

The games studio behind Minecraft is suggested to be preparing for a hefty exit to Microsoft, for a rumoured $2bn. The question is, what is Microsoft planning by investing into games?

All this and more in the Week in Tech, filmed at Runway East, a new coworking space focused on ecommerce and hardware in the heart of Shoreditch.
