Welcome to the twelfth and final episode in the Elevator Pitch series 3.
Every week we publish a 30 second pitch from 12 leading startups from across London. In this series we took the founders to the top of 40 Bank Street in the heart of Canary Wharf for the most exciting pitch of their lives.
For lots of people, running is a tough ask. It’s sometimes difficult to motivate yourself to get up off the sofa, put your shoes on, and put one foot in front of the other in quick succession for an extended period of time.
Runnit is an app for anyone looking for that little extra boost in motivation. The free app that lets users earn discounts and free products from brands by going running.
I’ve run – give me rewards
The idea behind Runnit is pretty much what you would expect.
Founder Joe Leese was trying to get fit and decided to take up running.
I checked out the running apps on the market and saw lots that would track stats or incentivise you with in-app points.
I thought it would be great if there was something that gave users real world rewards to help them stay motivated.
App experience
Users select the reward they want to earn, and then must complete a running challenge in order to unlock it.
The app tracks progress using GPS and then sends out rewards via email in the form of discount codes or vouchers when the challenge is complete.
Wayra startup
Backed by Telefonica’s Wayra startup accelerator, the company currently has fifteen brand partners including YPlan, Hello Fresh and Popchips so there are plenty of rewards on offer.
We were also really proud to be accepted into the Wayra Startup Accelerator here in London earlier this year.
It’s a fantastic opportunity that has already had a really big impact on the company.
They are now opening up their platform to other apps as well. It is currently live within two partner apps and they have several more partnerships lined up for later this year.
