The latest set of startups were officially welcomed into the Elevator Pitch alumni network last night at the screening event for the fourth series.
Held at the Pill Box coworking space in Bethnal Green, Elevator Pitch alumni new and old were in attendance to watch the latest videos.
The most recent series of Tech City News‘ flagship competition saw startups take the most exciting taxi ride of their life as they pitched their business in 30 seconds in the back of a Hailo cab, flying around London.
Elevator Pitch Alumni
Alex Depledge, founder and CEO of Hassle, one of the great success stories to have come out of the Elevator Pitch, was on hand to welcome the new startups and explain how the series acted as a catalyst for the company’s subsequent growth.
After featuring in the second series of the competition last year, the on-demand cleaning service went on to win Startup of the Year at the Elevator Pitch Awards 2013 and subsequently raised $6m from Accel Partners.
It is just one of the many flourishing and now established companies to have come out of the series. Others include Glow, import.io, YPlan, and Daatch.
The new alumni will hope that their new videos can catapult their business to the same dizzying heights.
The new intake
The growing alumni network includes almost 50 of the UK’s most exciting startups and is set to go from strength to strength in the coming years.
The current intake is a fascinating mix of fintech, health and fitness tech, internet of things, and ed tech among others.
Two videos from the recent series, Audiowings and Check Business, have already been published and every Tuesday a new Startup of the Week will be featured on Tech City News.
