Biometrics, data hacks and Dr Sue Black: Cybersecurity magazine by Tech City News available now

We are happy to announce that Tech City News’ latest print magazine issue has launched.

Focusing on the topic of cybersecurity, issue 9 of our popular tech magazine, features Dr Sue Black OBE, computer scientist and Bletchley Park campaigner, as its cover star. Dr Black, who was recently appointed advisor of the UK Government’s Digital Service, is also the focus of a piece detailing how technology helped Britain win the Second World War.

Additional features include an exploration of biometric security and how it is shaping the cybersecurity landscape; a piece on what the new EU rules on data protection mean for tech companies in the UK; the top cybersecurity hacks from the last couple of years and an interview with a former MI6 spy who shares his views on how technology has impacted national security.

The magazine also includes the top tech investments of 2015 and those from Q4 last year, plus various guest contributions from seasoned experts, with advice on how companies should prevent and handle security breaches.

Our ‘And Finally…’ section features two spotlight pieces on Amsterdam and its thriving tech scene, plus the top tech companies to have emerged from the Dutch capital city.

We’ve also included a round-up of the Elevator Pitch Series Five Awards ceremony, hosted by NatWest at the end of last year. Winners on the night included Hometouch, RotaGeek, Makerble, Wonderluk and What3Words.

Tech City News‘ editor Emily Spaven and reporter Yessi Bello Perez round off the issue with a gadget showdown and Emma Watkinson, co-founder of fashion platform and Elevator Pitch Alumni SilkFred, shares her company’s progress and answers some truly bizarre questions in ’60 Seconds With …’.
