Vitrue Health, a company looking to tackle chronic neck and back pain among office workers, has raised £3.2m.

Launched in 2018, Vitrue Health is a digital platform for workplaces that uses computer vision and AI to offer preventative care for workers at risk of musculoskeletal conditions.

The company works with the NHS as well as private healthcare and insurance providers to analyse the posture and ergonomics of workers. The platform provides personalised programmes based on its analysis so that patients can manage existing injuries and prevent new ones.

“Musculoskeletal health conditions have been a societal problem across the world for decades, and our data shows that rates of pain have massively increased since the rise of hybrid working,” said co-founder and CEO Shane Lowe.

“With this new funding, we’ll be able to continue our growth to reduce the financial and health costs for employers and their teams.”

The funding round was led by MMC Ventures and Hambro Perks, with involvement from Simplyhealth Ventures and Crista Galli Ventures.

“We’ve been tracking Vitrue Health and the evolution of its computer vision technology for several years,” said MMC Ventures managing partner Simon Menashy.

“The team is highly technical with a strong clinical skill set, and we believe they’ve found a strong use case with evidenced product-market fit that can eliminate musculoskeletal pain for millions of people.”
