Shared workspace company Patch will open two more locations in Twickenham and High Wycombe following a £3m raise.
The hybrid working company says it is aiming to bring life back to the high street with “neighbourhood workspaces” that encourage people to work “near home”.
The company, which launched in 2020, started with a site in Chelmsford, Essex. Patch creates local workspaces from disused buildings, catering to individuals or small businesses and startups.
“Our belief is simple, that great people are everywhere and they deserve the same opportunities too often sequestered in our major cities,” said Freddie Fforde, founder and CEO of Patch.
The workspace startup received backing from JamJar Investments, Blue Wire Capital, Vectr7 Investment Partners LLP, Active Partners and Triple Point Ventures.
It also received investment from the following angel investors:
- Matt Clifford, CEO, Entrepreneur First
- Simon Murdoch, founder, Episode 1
- Zoe Jervier Hewitt, talent director for Europe, Sequoia
- Caroline Plumb OBE, founder of Fluidly and CEO of Gravita UK
- Peter Roberts, founder, PureGym
- Emma Woods, former CEO of Wagamama
- Wendy Becker, former CEO of Jack Wills
- Jeremy Sanders, co-founder, Coco di Mama
With its fresh funding, Patch plans to open more of its local workspaces and grow its team.
Peter Roberts, founder of PureGym, said: “We are at a pivotal moment for our high streets. We need to back bold, creative, and innovative companies like Patch if we want to reignite local areas and transform them for the better.”
