Embedded banking company ClearBank has appointed Megan Cooper, a former Barclays and Starling Bank executive, as its chief product officer (CPO).
Cooper has been brought on to lead ClearBank’s product strategy team as the fintech looks to build on the momentum of its latest financial report, in which it doubled its revenue, landing a pre-tax profit of £5.9m.
ClearBank is also looking to launch its services into new markets such as the US. The fintech has appointed a number of board members this year, including former Zopa Bank and Virgin Money executives, to prepare for its expansion.
Cooper has worked in fintech for more than a decade before joining ClearBank, having most recently spent five years at Barclays, during which she led the bank’s digital strategy and eventually served as CPO.
Prior to that, Cooper worked as chief platform officer for Starling Bank in its early days. Cooper is also a board member focused on digital, technology and cyber products and services for UK Finance.
“ClearBank’s success is built on understanding its customers’ needs, and that only comes from listening and using that insight to deliver great products,” said Cooper.
“I look forward to working with ClearBank and continuing this approach, creating services that will meet customer needs both in the UK, Europe and the US.”
